New policies announced today by the Liberal Democrats and the Labour party in the run-up to the election. Lib Dems pledge a zero carbon Britian without nuclear energy, diverting funds from road to rail, creating jobs in green industries. Labour promises more of the same, but with nuclear and CCS.
None of the parties appear to be willing to roll back on any of Labours progress in recent years with FIT’s and the forthcoming RHI. The Tories and the LIb Dems rightly criticise Labour for going too slowly in the right direction. But since neither of them have any real experince of government, their plans to inject some urgency into this area rings a little hollow.
