I am judging some categories in these awards this year, and I recommend a visit to the NLA gallery to see the shortlisted entries. The entries are ingeniously printed onto reclaimed timber boards, the first time I have seen such a use made of printing technology. Cue lots of jokes about logjams in the printer etc.
The shortlist can be seen here, but their entries are not displayed online, which is a pity. So you will have to go to the NLA to see them , and it is worth the trip. There is a lot of good work on display from manufacturing to advocacy with some good buildings in between.
The awards event itself is on the 30th November at the Royal College of Physicians in Regents Park, so it is worth going just to see this brilliant building. Go upstairs to the gallery while there to enjoy the map of the human nervous and venous system. You won’t forget it.
